After 6 months usage my device got an update that got it bricked and stuck in a boot loop, I contacted HTC to find out this device was user unlocked illegally not factory unlocked as stated in the product title!

  Why I called them? My device was bricked due to wrong software updates assignment due to mismatch between location and updates.

  My device was updated with an ineligible software making it seem like the device had been rooted with a corrupt software!

  Having owned this phone previously which I got stolenI decided to go for the same HTC since I was already used to it and I thought it was just fine for my taste and needs.

  However, acquiring it online as an unlocked phone is sometimes a risk and a disappointment my previous HTC One m9 I got it from my cell phone provider.

  

  Everything worked well except one feature was disabled, and I consider it a very important one: Mobile Hotspot. A shame since I used to share data to my friends, family or girlfriend on trips, or at school, even to my own laptop at times, etc.

  All hope for sharing data is gone if you pick this up here, since contacting the seller provided no solutions, other than returning the phone, except I couldn’t be left without a phone as for the moment.

  Also, APN will be disabled for some reason when you turn this on for the first time, so in order to be able to use my data, I had to visit my provider.

  These are the things I thought I must mention to warn anyone who is thinking in buying this phone, and whether that will affect them or not.

  Technically speaking without getting much into detail, the phone is great.

  Unable to upgrade to the most recent Android version however, I’ve read it supposedly has to do with the method performed to unlock the phone.

  This could have easily been a 5 star product but since some features are taken away from the phone, along with a harder initial setup, all of this apparently without a solution, the rating of this specific product falls down, and service of the vendor Open Group Wireless is lackluster.

  The phone does come in its original package. Personal recommendation: if you like this phone, get it from your local provider.
